About Kerriann
Design has always been personal to me.
I grew up around fashion, inspired by my grandmother, a bridal designer who introduced me to the beauty of craftsmanship at an early age. Bridal was my first love and, in many ways, the beginning of Kerri Alise. Some of my earliest memories are of sketching, helping with sample selections, and learning to appreciate the thoughtful details that make a piece feel special.
Over time, that love grew into a broader design journey. I began creating pieces of my own, including carnival prototypes for events in New York, Toronto, and the Caribbean, while continuing to deepen my understanding of fit, construction, and the relationship between clothing and the women wearing it.
My path into design wasn't completely traditional. After graduating from Howard University, I worked as an Intelligence Analyst for the FBI before returning to New York to pursue a career in the luxury industry. My experience at Tiffany & Co. gave me valuable insight into merchandising, product development, planning, and supply chain, and helped me understand what it takes to bring an idea to life with both beauty and intention.
I later earned my Master's in Strategic Design from Parsons, which expanded the way I think about design - not only in terms of how something looks, but how it fits into a woman's life.
Over the years, my work has grown to include women's wear, technical design, jewelry, home, and product development, but bridal remains an important part of my creative foundation. There is something deeply meaningful to me about designing for such memorable moments.
At the same time, Kerri Alise has also grown alongside my own lifestyle. The Travel Capsule was created for women who love to travel, don't enjoy packing, and still want to feel polished and comfortable while on the go. I wanted to create pieces that make getting dressed easier - items that pair effortlessly together, can be mixed and matched, and move seamlessly from one part of the day to the next.
Whether I'm designing for a once-in-a-lifetime moment or for the rhythm of everyday movement, my goal is the same: to create pieces that feel beautiful, thoughtful, and easy to live in.
